Looking to make a positive impact in students’ daily lives? Two Bus Aide positions are available on a contract basis for the remainder of the 25/26 school year, with a strong possibility of renewal for the following year. These roles provide the opportunity to work directly with students, ensuring their safety and well-being on their bus journeys to and from school.

Paraprofessionals or Certified Nursing Assistants are welcome to apply for these roles in the Seattle, WA area and nearby communities. The schedule is 3 hours per day—90 minutes each in the morning and afternoon, totaling 15 hours per week. Typical shifts might range from 6:30 am to 8:30 am and 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm, offering a consistent yet flexible routine.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Background as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
• Experience working with special needs children strongly preferred
• Familiarity with riding buses and supporting students on district transportation
• Solid verbal de-escalation skills for managing challenging situations compassionately
• Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude

Key Responsibilities:

• Accompany students as a 1:1 or 2:1 bus aide each school day
• Ride district transportation from school to the student’s home in the morning, and return to the school
• Reverse the process during afternoon dismissal, ensuring students’ safe transition between home and school
• Provide direct support, reassurance, and intervention as needed during transit

This contract role runs through May 29, 2026, with strong potential for participation in extended school year services and renewal for the following academic year.
