Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Bus Aide for the 26/27 school year. This opportunity suits individuals with paraprofessional experience or a Certified Nursing Assistant background who are dedicated to supporting special needs children. With flexible scheduling—working 10 to 15 hours per week based on assigned routes—this contract position provides the chance to make a real impact. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a strong likelihood of renewal and opportunities for summer extension and new school year placement.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or CNA, especially supporting children with special needs
  • Proficiency in verbal de-escalation techniques
  • Prior experience riding buses with students preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and attentive to student safety
  • Willingness to undergo a brief 15-minute interview and participate in both Soliant and ESD onboarding
  • Completion of an in-person onboarding class required before starting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accompanying students on bus routes to and from school, providing 1:1 or 2:1 support during transit
  • Offering supervision, reassurance, and intervention as needed to ensure a positive and safe ride
  • Acting as a compassionate point of contact and support for students
  • Adhering to all transportation protocols and reporting procedures
  • Maintaining consistent communication in the event of callouts

This position offers the opportunity to work morning (6:30–8:30 am) and afternoon (2:30–4:30 pm) shifts, with hours varying by site. You’ll be picked up at the school and accompany the driver to escort the student, ensuring personalized support each step of the way.
