Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of an associate's degree or higher, or at least 48 college semester hours (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or regional agency) plus a passing score (70%+) on a paraeducator course from Stedi.org
  • Experience working with children with hearing loss, preferably in pediatric or school-based settings
  • Fingerprinting and background check required as part of credentialing
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to students requiring ASL assistance at one campus (specific campus assigned based on need at the time of hiring)
  • Engage with students in both high school and academy settings, serving caseloads averaging 10–30 students
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere, collaborating with educators and specialists
  • Adapt instructional materials and communication to assist in classroom participation
  • Maintain accurate records and observe confidentiality standards
  • Participate in team meetings to review student goals and progress
