Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher education degree required
- Valid Illinois Para Educator License
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students, especially in special education settings
- Ability to provide recent managerial references in school or educational support roles
- Clear criminal background as required for Illinois school employment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, clinicians, and fellow staff
- Compassion, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and success of school-aged children
Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with classroom management and instructional support
- Work directly with individual students, guiding and encouraging participation
- Provide 1:1 care to special education and medically fragile students as needed
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Contribute to the overall well-being and progress of the classroom community
