Key Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana Paraprofessional Certification strongly preferred
• Experience providing direct 1:1 assistance to children with complex medical needs
• Understanding of Spina bifida and other medical complications is highly valued
• Background in medical care or settings is a plus
• Strong communication, patience, and adaptability
• Commitment to maintaining dignity, respect, and safety in mobility supports

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support and supervision to a student with Spina bifida
• Assist with physical mobility, repositioning, and adjustments throughout the school day
• Monitor and respond appropriately to medical needs in collaboration with nursing and classroom staff
• Support daily routines in the classroom, cafeteria, and other campus locations
• Foster an encouraging and inclusive environment
• Maintain thorough documentation and open communication with the educational team
• Uphold safety, privacy, and health protocols at all times

This full-time assignment offers 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-3:30pm, starting as soon as possible and running through May 25, 2027.
