Teacher's Aide - Vivian, Louisiana

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a 7th grade student as a dedicated paraprofessional fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). This onsite position plays a crucial role in helping a student fully access their curriculum by providing individualized ASL interpretation services throughout the school year. Working 35 hours per week from August 6, 2026, to May 19, 2027, you’ll make a direct and meaningful impact every day.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, teachers, and staff
• Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational environment
• Reliability and professionalism in managing confidential student information
• Passion for supporting student learning and removing communication barriers

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation and support for a 7th grade student during all instructional activities and transitions within the school day
• Facilitate communication between the student, classmates, and instructional staff
• Assist in reinforcing classroom instruction and ensuring student engagement
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to adapt materials and instructions as needed
• Monitor and report on student progress and participation
