Instructional Assistant - Waldoboro, Maine

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar school support capacity
• Enthusiasm for helping students with various educational and behavioral needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teachers and staff
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude in dynamic classroom environments
• Ability to follow directions while also taking initiative when appropriate

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist classroom teachers with lesson implementation, classroom management, and daily routines
• Provide individualized or small-group support to students, including those with special needs
• Foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe learning atmosphere
• Support students with daily living skills, social development, and academic activities as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures
• Monitor student progress, document observations, and communicate effectively with educators
