Para Professional in Warrenton, NC

Embark on a rewarding contract assignment supporting elementary and middle school students with behavioral needs and autism. This paraprofessional role, based near Warrenton, NC, runs from ASAP through December 10, 2026, covering the full 2026–2027 school year. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with the possibility of partial day shifts and flexible assignments as the caseload and schedule are being finalized.

Key Qualifications:

• High school diploma AND at least 48 hours of college-level coursework (required)
• Minimum of two years of prior school-based experience as a paraprofessional
• Background working directly with elementary and/or middle school students, especially with behavioral challenges and autism
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills
• Ability to adapt to evolving schedules and work both independently and as part of a collaborative education team
• Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment

Responsibilities Will Include:

• Providing one-on-one assistance to students in elementary or middle school settings
• Supporting classroom teachers in implementing academic and behavioral interventions
• Maintaining a positive, inclusive climate for students with diverse needs
• Assisting with individualized education programs (IEPs) and the daily management of student behaviors
• Helping students with lessons, personal development, and self-regulation strategies
• Documenting observations and collaborating with staff to ensure student progress
