Position Details:

  • Contract duration: ASAP through June 16, 2027
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM
  • Elementary school setting
  • Pay ranges from $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of an Associate’s degree or successful passage of the Rhode Island Teaching Assistant exam
  • Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, Behavior Specialist, or in a similar support role preferred
  • Understanding of classroom management and positive behavioral interventions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
  • Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with elementary students
  • Ability to support students individually or in groups, ensuring a supportive learning space for all

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in classroom instruction and daily activities
  • Implement positive behavioral support strategies under teacher guidance
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with behavioral or academic needs
  • Monitor student progress and help maintain a safe, inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with faculty and school staff to enhance student learning experiences
  • Assist in the supervision of students during classroom transitions, recess, and lunch
