An educational institution in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional with specialized American Sign Language (ASL) skills to support students in a contract position. This role is integral to creating an inclusive learning environment tailored to the needs of individuals requiring additional assistance.
Responsibilities include providing one-on-one support to students, utilizing ASL for effective communication, and collaborating with educators to assist with behavioral and academic challenges. Key qualifications and experience required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Exam
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred
- Certification in ASL interpretation or equivalent proficiency
- Experience working with individuals with autism or severe behavioral and academic challenges strongly preferred
Schedule:
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
