Teacher Aide | Waterbury, Connecticut

An exciting opportunity awaits for skilled paraprofessionals looking to make a difference in a middle school setting near Waterbury, CT. This contract position features two full-time roles, each supporting a student one-on-one with a moderate caseload. You’ll work 35 hours per week in a dynamic educational environment, helping students achieve their potential both academically and socially.

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a paraprofessional or behavior technician in a school setting
• Comfortable working one-on-one with middle school students
• Ability to support students with moderate needs and adapt to different learning styles
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and parents
• Dependable, patient, and able to maintain a positive attitude
• Experience collecting data and implementing behavior or learning plans is highly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to assigned middle school students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks
• Assist students with academic tasks and behavioral goals as directed by classroom teachers and specialists
• Implement individualized strategies to encourage student engagement and growth
• Foster independence, self-advocacy, and positive interactions among students
• Support documentation efforts by tracking student progress and behaviors accurately
• Participate in team meetings, training, and regular communication with the school team
