Teacher's Aide - Waterbury, Connecticut

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within an educational setting
• Familiarity with classroom routines, student engagement strategies, and special education support
• Ability to follow teacher-led instructional plans and adapt to the needs of diverse learners
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and staff
• Patient, compassionate, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in education or child development a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students in classrooms, small groups, or one-on-one settings
• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
• Help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or behavior support plans as needed
• Encourage student participation, independence, and positive behavior
• Support students with special needs, including physical assistance and academic guidance
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and daily activities as assigned
• Communicate observations and concerns to lead teachers and educational team members
