Exciting contract opportunities are available for skilled professionals interested in supporting students and classrooms as a paraeducator near Waterbury, CT. If you have experience as a paraprofessional and enjoy working closely with educators and supervising the progress of special education students, this position provides a rewarding and impactful environment.

As a valued member of the school support staff, you’ll work both 1:1 and in group settings alongside lead teachers and supervisors. Responsibilities will focus on actively assisting teachers in the supervision and direct instruction of students as outlined in their Planning and Placement Team (PPT) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) documents. Daily activities may include guidance during academic tasks, fostering social skill development, and supporting classroom structure. There may also be a need to provide assistance with toileting and other personal care routines for designated students.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or closely related role
  • Paraprofessional Certification, or an Associate’s degree (or 60+ undergraduate credits) or higher
  • Understanding of supporting students with diverse learning and developmental needs
  • Comfortable assisting with personal care as required
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and ability to take direction from lead teachers and supervisors

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional and behavioral support to students 1:1 and in group settings
  • Collaborate with the educational team to follow student IEPs and provide consistent supervision
  • Support classroom organization and safety
  • Assist with daily routines including academic, social, and functional skills
  • Help maintain accurate records and communication as needed

This contract position offers an hourly pay rate of $18-24 depending on experience and credentials, along with access to benefits.
