These contract roles are based near Waterbury, CT, supporting both classroom environments and providing essential 1:1 assistance alongside lead teachers and supervisors.

In this position, you’ll play a vital role in guiding special education students, helping implement their program plans, and fostering a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer direct support to lead teachers in classroom settings and in 1:1 situations with students who require individualized attention.
  • Assist in the supervision and instruction of special education students, following guidelines from each student’s PPT (Planning and Placement Team) and IEP (Individualized Education Program).
  • Support students’ daily needs, which may include assisting with toileting and personal care.
  • Help maintain a positive learning environment by encouraging student engagement and applying behavioral and educational strategies as directed.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a paraprofessional or directly related role in school-based settings.
  • Valid Parapro Certification OR an associate’s degree (or 60+ college credits) or higher.
  • Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach when working with students and staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism and reliability in a team setting.
