Instructional Aide - Waterbury, CT

Make a difference supporting students as a paraprofessional focusing on social-emotional and behavioral needs in a dynamic school environment. This is a contract assignment located conveniently near Waterbury, CT, with the potential for extension beyond November 30. Engage directly with one student in a one-on-one capacity, providing essential assistance onsite.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a school paraprofessional or in a classroom support role
• Background working with students demonstrating social-emotional or behavioral challenges
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism and composure in diverse settings
• High degree of patience, empathy, and adaptability
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for consistent support
• Ability to work onsite according to the schedule

Role Responsibilities:

• Support a student requiring 1:1 social-emotional and behavioral guidance
• Partner with educators and support staff to implement behavior intervention plans
• Foster a safe and positive learning environment
• Assist in crisis de-escalation using evidence-based techniques
• Document and report progress or concerns to supervisory staff
• Help implement daily routines and academic accommodations
• Maintain confidentiality of student information

Assignment Details:

• Contract dates: October 1 through November 30, with potential for extension
• Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, and Wednesday from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Setting: Onsite, individual student support
