In this vital role, you’ll engage one-on-one and in classroom settings, collaborating with lead teachers and supervisors to ensure students with behavioral or special education needs thrive in a positive, structured environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (required)
  • Meet NCLB Criteria:
    • Hold an Associate’s degree or higher, or have enough college credits
    • OR have passed the Parapro Assessment Examination
  • Prior experience in school behavioral support, special education, or related field
  • Ability to work with students across elementary and intermediate grades
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and supportive instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students individually and within classroom environments, following the guidance of teachers and supervisors
  • Assist in implementing behavioral and academic strategies based on IEP and PPT plans
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that nurtures educational objectives
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the instructional team
  • Maintain a safe, supportive atmosphere for all students
  • Adapt support to meet evolving student needs throughout the school year
