This contract opportunity is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting students with behavioral needs and special education requirements.

In this position, you will split your time between 1:1 student care and classroom support, working closely with experienced teachers and supervisors. You'll follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Planning and Placement Team (PPT) recommendations, ensuring each student receives the tailored support and guidance they need to flourish academically and socially.

What we’re seeking:

• High school diploma required
• Must meet No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements by having either:
  • An associate's degree or higher, or sufficient college credits
  • Or a passing score on the Parapro Assessment Examination
• Previous experience in behavioral support, special education, or a directly related school environment is essential
• Confidence supervising, instructing, and encouraging students from kindergarten through grade 12
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner effectively with lead teachers and supervisors

Key responsibilities:

• Assist teachers in instructional activities for special education students
• Support student participation in classroom and individual learning
• Encourage positive behaviors and help redirect students as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation in line with IEP/PPT requirements
• Build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families
