Special Education Para Professional in Watsonville, CA

Make a meaningful impact supporting students in an engaging after-school environment as a Paraprofessional. This part-time contract opportunity offers a consistent schedule of approximately 12.5 hours per week, running from now through June 3rd, 2027. You’ll be a vital part of an after-school program, helping to guide and encourage students while assisting staff in day-to-day activities.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, educational aide, or working with children strongly preferred
• Ability to build positive relationships with students of diverse backgrounds
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Dependable, energetic, and flexible mindset
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education or related field is a plus
• Commitment to supporting student learning and well-being

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist teachers and program leaders with classroom management and activity facilitation
• Provide individualized attention and support to students as needed
• Help implement educational and recreational activities, ensuring student engagement and safety
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants
• Supervise students during program hours and transitions, using positive behavior strategies
• Collaborate with staff to deliver a high-quality after-school experience
