Instructional Assistant - Waverly, New York

Take your passion for supporting students to the next level in this contract opportunity as a Teacher’s Aide/Assistant for the upcoming school year. This role is tailored for someone who enjoys making a difference in early childhood education and is eager to provide individualized support to a preschool student in a caring, school-based setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional or teacher’s aide, ideally within a school environment
• Strong background or interest in working 1:1 with preschool-aged children
• Comfortable assisting with daily care, including diaper changes
• Experience supporting students with behavioral or developmental needs is a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and school staff
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive, individualized support for a preschool student throughout the school day
• Assist with classroom activities, play-based learning, and daily routines
• Implement behavior plans and reinforce positive behaviors as directed by school professionals
• Offer support with hygiene needs, including diapering and toileting
• Help foster social, emotional, and academic development in a nurturing manner
• Document daily student progress and communicate updates to the teaching team
