Make a meaningful impact supporting students while working in a dynamic school environment near West Chester, PA! An immediate opportunity is available for an experienced Paraprofessional or Behavior Technician (PCA/BT) to support a 7th Grade Center Autistic Support classroom. This assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through June 4, 2026, with an option to return for the full 2026-2027 academic year (August 25, 2026–June 4, 2027). The position operates Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in the school day, assisting students in 7th and 8th grade who require behavioral and self-care support. Your calming presence and expertise will help create a safe, positive environment and provide day-to-day support for students with diverse behavioral needs, including those who may display aggression.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional, PCA, or Behavior Technician in a school or special education setting
• Comfortable working with students on the autism spectrum
• Skilled at managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors, including physical aggression
• Patient, compassionate, and willing to assist with self-care tasks as needed
• Ability to take direction and collaborate closely with special education staff

Responsibilities:

• Support classroom routines and assist students individually or in small groups
• Implement behavior intervention strategies alongside classroom teachers and therapists
• Provide proactive assistance with daily living or hygiene tasks as required
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and incidents
• Foster an inclusive, accepting atmosphere that empowers all learners
