This urgent backfill opportunity focuses on assisting seventh and eighth-grade students in an Autistic Support classroom, where your care makes a true impact every day.

You’ll work Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 3pm, providing dedicated support to students with behavioral and self-care needs. Your role will be vital in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment and will require compassion, resilience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior experience as a Paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role, especially within special education settings
• Strong commitment to working with students who may have physical and behavioral challenges, including those demonstrating aggression
• Ability to assist with self-care and ensure students’ safety and well-being throughout the school day
• Collaborative attitude and effective communication skills to work closely with teachers and school staff
• Reliability and adaptability within a school environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Work one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce classroom routines and individualized support plans
• Provide hands-on assistance to students with personal care and daily activities
• De-escalate behaviors and uphold a calm atmosphere during challenging situations
• Promptly follow direction from the lead teacher and related staff
• Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all learners
