Instructional Aide - West Chester, PA

You will work closely with educators and the school nurse, offering both academic and health-related support to students, including those who are medically fragile.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or PCA (preferred, but open to those with a strong desire to help)
• Understanding of best practices when supporting medically fragile students or willingness to learn
• Comfort and sensitivity assisting with toileting and changing garments for students as needed
• Ability to remain attentive and collect detailed observations, especially for students with seizure disorders
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, the school nurse, and other team members
• Compassionate, dependable, and maintains student dignity at all times

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing dedicated, hands-on support for students within the classroom
• Assisting with personal care needs such as toileting and garment changes
• Collecting and recording data related to student health and academic progress, especially during medical events
• Observing students and promptly reporting any concerns to the on-site school nurse or teachers
• Facilitating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment for students at all levels of need
