Teacher's Aide - West Hartford, Connecticut

The assignment runs from October 1st through November 30th, with the possibility of extending beyond the initial end date.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a supporting role within a school setting
• Strong understanding of social-emotional and behavioral support strategies
• Ability to develop positive rapport and build trust with students
• Proven skills in crisis intervention or de-escalation preferred
• Patient, compassionate, and collaborative approach to working with children
• Ability to follow directives from teachers, counselors, and behavior specialists

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support for a student with social-emotional and behavioral needs
• Assist with behavior management, redirection, and positive reinforcement techniques
• Collaborate closely with educational staff to reinforce learning objectives and strategies
• Implement interventions and accommodations as outlined by the student’s support plan
• Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely feedback to school professionals
• Support student participation in classroom and school activities, encouraging social skills development

This onsite contract position features a consistent daytime schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
