Classroom Aide | West Hartford, Connecticut

Embark on a rewarding contract position as a Paraprofessional, supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a dynamic educational environment. This role offers the opportunity to provide crucial 1:1 support, making a direct impact on the growth and development of children. The assignment runs from October 1 through November 30, with the potential for extension.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably in a paraprofessional or direct support role
• Familiarity with social-emotional and behavioral needs in children and adolescents
• Ability to build trust and rapport with students while maintaining professional boundaries
• Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills with both students and colleagues
• Must be reliable for onsite work, following the outlined schedule

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to a student with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
• Implement strategies and interventions outlined by the education and clinical teams
• Foster a positive and safe environment conducive to learning and emotional growth
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to promote student progress
• Monitor and document student behavior, responding to incidents appropriately
• Assist with classroom routines as needed, ensuring a consistent and supportive presence

This position follows a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Work takes place onsite in a supportive and engaging setting that truly values the contribution of its paraprofessional staff.
