Classroom Aide | West Hartford, Connecticut

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a paraprofessional in a vibrant school community near West Hartford, CT. This onsite role spans from October 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with positions available at both a middle school and a high school setting. You'll provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping students thrive in their academic journey.

This is a wonderful chance to make a meaningful difference while gaining experience within a dynamic educational environment. School hours are 7:40 am to 2:30 pm at one campus, and 7:20 am to 2:30 pm at the other—offering stable daytime shifts throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications:

• Prior experience as a paraprofessional in school settings
• Completion of all state-mandated trainings (must provide documentation)
• Ability to work effectively 1:1 with students, supporting individualized learning and behavior plans
• No adverse findings on background check; clear fingerprinting record is required
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and adaptability

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support to assigned students to foster academic, behavioral, and social success
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and school administrators to implement student goals
• Reinforce instructional materials and activities as directed by classroom educators
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Monitor student safety, engagement, and progress throughout the day
