What we’re looking for:
- Experience as a Paraprofessional in a school environment
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret classroom instruction
- Strong communication skills—both verbal and nonverbal
- A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively with students, teachers, and other staff
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s unique learning journeys
Key responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) to facilitate communication between students and school staff
- Provide one-on-one and small group support for students as needed
- Assist teachers in delivering instructional materials and classroom activities
- Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Support students’ social and academic development by encouraging participation and independence
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and daily activities
