Classroom Assistant | West Henrietta, New York

What we’re looking for:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional in a school environment
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to interpret classroom instruction
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and nonverbal
• A collaborative spirit, capable of working effectively with students, teachers, and other staff
• Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s unique learning journeys

Key responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) to facilitate communication between students and school staff
• Provide one-on-one and small group support for students as needed
• Assist teachers in delivering instructional materials and classroom activities
• Help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Support students’ social and academic development by encouraging participation and independence
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and daily activities
