Your expertise in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing will help foster academic growth, confidence, and greater classroom engagement. You'll serve as an essential part of the school’s commitment to diversity and equal opportunity, working collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and the special education team.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; must provide high school or college transcript upon hiring
  • Fluent proficiency in American Sign Language is mandatory
  • Prior experience working in a school setting, ideally as a paraprofessional
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct in-class support to middle school students utilizing ASL for communication and instruction
  • Assist teachers in preparing materials, adapting lessons, and reinforcing concepts for students with diverse learning needs
  • Promote an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation
  • Monitor student progress and collaborate on educational plans
  • Support students with social interaction, behavior plans, and integrating life skills as appropriate
