Classroom Assistant | Whitehall, Pennsylvania

We are seeking skilled Paraprofessionals to serve in various educational settings across Lehigh County. Positions are available in multiple schools, with placements considered based on district needs as well as your preferences when possible.

Assignment Details

• Duration: August 10, 2026 – June 11, 2027, following the school calendar
• Schedule: 32.5 to 35 hours per week; school-day hours will vary, but availability between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM is required
• Locations: Multiple districts and schools within driving distance (must reside within 35 minutes)
• In-person interviews are required; scheduling is first-come, first-served
• Onboarding and HR clearance must be completed before assignment

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 1 year working as a paraprofessional, preferably in a school or special education setting
• Meet one of the following: 48+ college credits, an associate degree or higher, or completion of the Paraprofessional Certification (can be completed within 60 days of hire)
• Willingness and ability to handle challenging student behaviors and attend to physical needs, including lifting or toileting
• Consistent and reliable commute; access to personal transportation preferred
• Ability to provide two strong professional references in similar paraprofessional roles

Key Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education and behavioral plans
• Support students with significant needs, including those with multiple disabilities and emotional support requirements
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Ensure student safety and effective engagement throughout the school day
