Begin making a difference in students’ lives throughout the 2026/2027 school year as a valued paraprofessional or instructional assistant in Lehigh County, PA. We’re looking for compassionate, reliable professionals who are ready to work with both school-age and preschool students in diverse educational settings—including Multiple Disabilities Support (MDS) classrooms, both functional and behavioral.
Assignments follow the school calendar and can start as soon as onboarding and clearances are completed. Placement is based on current needs, and your location and preferences will be considered when possible. Candidates should be able to commute within about 30-35 minutes of school assignments and be available for in-person interviews.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 1+ year experience as a paraprofessional, instructional assistant, or working with children in special education settings
- Meet at least one PA state paraprofessional requirement (48+ college credits, associate degree or higher, or passing a qualifying assessment). If not, be willing to obtain certification within 60 days of hire
- Reliable transportation and a record of consistent, punctual attendance
- Comfortable supporting students with behavioral and/or physical needs, including providing personal care, lifting, and managing challenging behaviors
- Strong communication, collaboration skills, and adaptability
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist certified teachers in delivering instruction and providing classroom support
- Support students with significant behavioral or functional needs, helping foster independence and engagement
- Perform duties such as toileting, feeding, and hygiene care as needed
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment for all students
- Work collaboratively with classroom and support staff to meet individual student needs
