This assignment provides a vital service for students, focusing on ensuring safe, supportive transportation to and from school settings. The positions offer a flexible schedule, with morning hours between 6:30–8:30 am and afternoon hours from 2:30–4:30 pm. Expect between 10–15 total hours each week, depending on the bus route. With 10 immediate openings available, this role extends through May 28, 2027, with added opportunities for ESY and a strong potential for contract renewal for the following school year.
Preferred candidates bring experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant and a background supporting children with special needs, especially in de-escalation and bus aide situations. Duties include riding with the student on routes, supporting safe transitions, and being a steady and compassionate presence. Candidates are picked up at the student’s school and travel with the driver to pick up and drop off students.
Desired qualifications:
- Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant experience
- Previous work with special needs children (preferred)
- Effective verbal de-escalation and calming skills
- Previous experience as a bus aide is highly desirable
- Willingness to undergo CANS fingerprinting (reimbursed by district)
- Strong attendance and communication with school/district contacts
