Make a genuine impact in students’ lives as an essential Bus Aide, supporting young learners with special needs as they travel to and from school in Seattle, WA and the surrounding areas. This contract opportunity is available for the remainder of the 25/26 school year, with strong potential to renew for the Extended School Year and the following academic year.

Work approximately 15 flexible hours per week—morning and afternoon shifts split into 90-minute segments. Assist students requiring 1:1 or 2:1 bus support, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience from pick-up to drop-off. Candidates can have experience as a Paraprofessional or a Certified Nursing Assistant, as both skillsets are valued in this role.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant, especially within a school or transportation setting
  • Experience supporting children with special needs
  • Skilled in verbal de-escalation and behavior management techniques
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to regular split shift hours
  • Ability to engage compassionately and professionally with students and staff
  • Comfortable riding buses or vans and assisting with student transitions

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ride with students to and from school, maintaining a safe and supportive environment
  • Pick up from student’s school in the morning, accompany driver to student’s home, and then return to school
  • Support students during afternoon dismissal, mirroring the morning routine
  • Proactively address student needs and implement safe practices during transport
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, school personnel, and families as needed
