What’s needed for success:

• Prior experience as a Paraprofessional or Certified Nursing Assistant
• Background working with children with special needs, preferably in a school or transport setting
• Strong verbal de-escalation and communication skills
• A compassionate, calm attitude and commitment to student safety
• Reliable attendance and timeliness in reporting to scheduled shifts
• Ability to attend in-person onboarding and training prior to starting duties

Key responsibilities:

• Accompany students on the school bus during daily routes, supporting their safety and well-being
• Provide one-on-one or small group supervision, as assigned (1:1 or 2:1 ratio)
• Assist with bus routines and address behavioral issues using de-escalation techniques
• Communicate effectively with bus drivers and school staff to ensure smooth student transitions
• Complete comprehensive onboarding with both the agency and educational service department (including a brief in-person class)
• Adhere to all reporting requirements for absences or callouts
