A full-time contract position is available for an enthusiastic and compassionate Paraprofessional near Willis, TX. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference through one-on-one support for a student with Autism, specifically within a life skills classroom environment.

In this vital role, you will work onsite directly with a student exhibiting self-harm stemming behaviors. Your patience, understanding, and commitment will be key in assisting the student with daily school activities while helping them access their education in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience as a Paraprofessional, ideally within a school setting
• Familiarity supporting children or adolescents with Autism, especially those with challenging behaviors or special needs
• Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and resourceful in high-stress situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Desire to foster an encouraging, inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Availability for the full duration of the contract through May 21, 2027

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support and redirection for a student during classroom activities, transitions, and downtime
• Follow behavior intervention plans and use de-escalation strategies as needed
• Assist with daily tasks, curriculum participation, and personal care if required
• Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to help ensure student safety and success
• Document observations and progress, offering feedback during team meetings
