This full-time contract position offers the chance to contribute meaningfully during a leave of absence, working directly with students to facilitate their growth and learning.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit is required at submission; pending permits cannot be accepted
  • Previous experience in a school setting as a paraprofessional is highly preferred
  • Must be comfortable working onsite full-time, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds
  • Candidates with an RBT credential must arrange their own supervision outside work hours if they wish to keep the certification current; position will be classified and compensated only at the paraprofessional level
  • Willingness to complete required fingerprinting through the Delaware CBC process ($85 cost to candidate; must agree prior to submission)
  • Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support to ensure students with various needs are able to access the curriculum
  • Assist licensed teachers with instruction, behavioral reinforcement, and individualized student support
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support routine classroom management and ensure student safety at all times
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Perform additional duties as needed to help the classroom function smoothly
