Make a tangible impact supporting students with complex learning needs in a renowned middle school setting. This contract position offers the chance to work closely with a student in the BRIDGES program, dedicated to those on the autism spectrum and with diverse learning styles. As a paraprofessional, you’ll be part of an engaged educational team committed to fostering a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit required (must be in hand or proof of DEEDS portal submission attached to application)
  • Comfortable assisting with feeding and toileting as needed
  • Experience or willingness to work with students on the autism spectrum and with multiple learning challenges
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and nursing staff
  • Flexibility, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for working with middle school students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support for a female student in the BRIDGES program at a middle school
  • Collaborate with two on-site nurses for specialized needs related to feeding and toileting, ensuring a supportive environment at all times
  • Implement classroom and program strategies under the direction of special education teachers and support staff
  • Promote independence, communication, and social engagement for the student
  • Assist in recording progress and communicating student updates as required

Additional Details:

  • Contract runs ASAP through June 8, 2027, with consistent Monday-Friday daytime hours (8:05am-2:55pm; 30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • All applicants must confirm willingness to complete required $85 CBC fingerprinting prior to starting
  • Applicants holding RBT certification must arrange their own BCBA supervision outside of school hours if maintaining that credential
