This contract paraprofessional opportunity is available ASAP through June 15, 2027, and offers a rewarding role for someone who thrives on helping others achieve success in a school setting. The assignment runs from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Key Qualifications:

• Experience working as a school paraprofessional or in a similar classroom support role
• Comfort and aptitude for assisting students with autism who are nonverbal and require communication support
• Ability to remain patient, positive, and adaptive in a dynamic, active environment
• Willingness and physical ability to accompany the student on walks and engage with movement-based activities throughout the school day
• Strong interpersonal skills to redirect behaviors, promote engagement, and build trust
• Preference for a male candidate to align with student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Serve as a dedicated 1:1 aide to a male 8th grader, helping him access curriculum, participate safely, and make meaningful connections
• Proactively support positive behaviors, address attention-seeking challenges, and respond calmly to various situations as they arise
• Encourage student interaction with peers and school staff while facilitating movement breaks and sensory activities as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with teachers and special education staff to implement individualized plans and help the student reach his potential
