Paraeducator / Behavior Technician – Full-Time

Location: Windsor, CT
Start Date: End of July
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (32.5 hours/week)

Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dependable Paraeducators/Behavior Technicians to join a specialized educational team supporting students with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral needs. Multiple full-time positions are available, including both 1:1 student support and classroom support roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct 1:1 or classroom support to students with autism and behavioral challenges.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and support students throughout the school day.
• Assist students with academic, social, and daily living activities as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to support student success.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Assist with toileting and personal care when required.

Student Population

• Ages 5–22 years old
• Students with autism spectrum disorders and behavioral needs ranging from mild to intensive.
• Typical classrooms have 5–7 students, with each student receiving dedicated 1:1 support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working in special education, behavioral support, ABA, or a related field.
• Experience supporting students with autism and/or behavioral challenges preferred.
• Comfortable providing personal care, including toileting assistance, if needed.
• Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, specialized educational setting.

Compensation for this position ranges from $16.85 to $32.85. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
