Make a meaningful difference in a young student’s educational journey as a full-time ASL Paraprofessional. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to provide daily support to an elementary-aged male student, fostering both academic and social success in a welcoming school environment.

In this role, you'll utilize your American Sign Language fluency to help bridge communication, ensuring the student’s active participation throughout the school day. Working 32 hours a week, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and specialists, tailoring assistance to meet individual needs and promote independence.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
  • Prior experience supporting elementary students in educational settings as a paraprofessional is strongly preferred
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working one-on-one with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Patience, reliability, and excellent communication skills
  • EIPA certification is not required for this position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct classroom assistance by interpreting and facilitating communication
  • Support the student’s engagement during lessons, group activities, and transitions
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to adapt and tailor instructional materials
  • Encourage socialization with peers while promoting self-confidence and independence
  • Maintain clear, respectful communication with the student’s educational team
