Classroom Assistant | Yuba City, California

Support an elementary student one-on-one as a dedicated ASL Paraprofessional on a contract assignment, working full-time, 32 hours per week. In this rewarding position, you'll facilitate inclusive learning and provide essential communication access for a young male student, helping him thrive in the classroom and beyond. Located in a friendly school environment near Yuba City, this is an ideal role for someone passionate about education and making a difference through American Sign Language.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required
• Experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in school settings
• Ability to foster trust and positivity with elementary-aged children
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with teachers, staff, and families
• Patient, caring, and adaptable to individual student needs
• EIPA certification not required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct ASL communication support for an elementary student throughout the school day
• Support the student’s academic and social participation in classroom activities
• Interpret instructions, classroom discussions, and directions using ASL
• Assist with instructional tasks and encourage student independence
• Collaborate with educators and service providers to best support student learning
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards of conduct at all times
