Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain by start date)
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of IEPs and the evaluation process
- Proficiency in delivering both direct therapy and consultative services
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted physical therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
- Conduct comprehensive student assessments and contribute to eligibility determinations
- Develop and implement therapeutic activities that support educational and functional goals
- Collaborate with classroom staff, special educators, and families to maximize student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and progress notes
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and guidance on student needs and programming
