Step into a rewarding full-time contract role working with students in a supportive school environment near Amherst, MA. This position runs from August 24, 2026, through June 16, 2027, and offers a 30-hour workweek. You'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of 7 to 9 students on your caseload, collaborating with educators and families to help each child achieve their physical therapy goals.
Desired Experience and Skills:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license for the state
- Previous experience in school-based settings is highly desirable
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational abilities to manage a small caseload efficiently
- Passion for supporting the physical development and inclusion of children with diverse needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to a caseload of 7-9 students as determined by their IEPs
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans tailored to each child's requirements
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other school-based professionals
- Implement interventions that foster students’ mobility, participation, and independence within the classroom setting
