Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings highly preferred
  • Understanding of IEP processes and the ability to develop student-centered intervention plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Ability to balance caseload demands and adapt interventions to meet student and school needs
  • Passion for promoting inclusion and accessibility within the educational system

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify student needs related to motor skills and physical development
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in line with educational and therapeutic goals
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings as appropriate
  • Provide direct therapy services to students as specified in IEPs and consult with classroom staff to integrate strategies in daily activities
  • Educate staff and families about strategies to support students’ physical functioning in school environments
  • Stay current with best practices and legal mandates in school-based therapeutic services
