Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license and registration, valid for school-based practice in Illinois
- Previous experience delivering physical therapy in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities with students, teachers, and parents
- Commitment to fostering a positive, supportive, and inclusive school culture
- Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet diverse student needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ physical therapy needs within the educational setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to support students’ mobility, access, and participation in school programs
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) team meetings and contribute to goal-setting and progress monitoring
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation, following district and federal guidelines
- Provide in-service training and support to staff as needed regarding safe movement and adaptive equipment
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages student independence and confidence
