Step into a contract opportunity supporting students with a wide range of physical therapy needs at a school near Aurora, IL. This flexible, part-time position offers the chance to positively impact the lives of approximately 20 students, including both in-person and a handful of homebound cases. The role is scheduled for two days per week, totaling around 14 hours weekly, with the potential for extension into the summer months. Immediate start is available for the right candidate.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) licensure in Illinois
- Experience working in school-based settings, specifically with diverse pediatric populations
- Ability to manage a varied caseload, including in-person and homebound students
- Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication with students, staff, and families
- Adaptable, collaborative approach to working with an educational team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services to meet IEP goals for students in both school and home settings
- Conduct evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for each student
- Consult with teachers, families, and other service providers to support student progress
- Maintain thorough, timely documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Monitor and adjust interventions according to student progress and feedback
- Uphold best practices for safety and student engagement during all sessions
