This short-term leave position begins August 17th and extends through November 4th, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference in a school community. The caseload includes a mix of grade levels, with a particular focus on students in transition (ages 20–22).
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (required)
- Previous pediatric and school-based experience
- Strong understanding of best practices in providing physical therapy to students with special needs
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other related service providers
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver educationally relevant physical therapy services to special education students in an onsite school setting
- Address gross motor skill deficits by enhancing students’ ability to access their educational environment
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that reflect each student’s needs and goals
- Maintain accurate documentation, communicate progress, and participate in IEP meetings as required
- Support students’ transition planning, including working with older adolescents (20–22 years old) on functional mobility and access
