Physical Therapist - School Setting in Avon, IN

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid state licensure and certification as a Physical Therapist
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Solid understanding of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) processes and documentation
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and other therapists
• Ability to adapt therapeutic interventions for a K-12 caseload with a variety of needs and abilities
• Effective communication and organization for managing caseload paperwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting evaluations and assessments to determine motor skill deficits and physical needs
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for students in accordance with IEPs
• Providing direct therapy, both individually and in small groups, addressing gross motor skills, mobility, and adaptive needs
• Collaborating with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate strategies throughout the school environment
• Monitoring student progress, maintaining detailed records, and participating in IEP meetings as needed
• Offering consultation and support to school staff regarding accessibility and best practices
