This is a contract Physical Therapist opportunity offering the chance to work closely with learners ages 3-21. You'll collaborate with dedicated educators and families to help students achieve their individual therapy goals throughout the school year and extended summer program (ESY).
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed by the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
- In-depth understanding of sensory-motor development and musculoskeletal systems
- Experience with students who have multiple disabilities, ages 3-21
- Proficient in evaluating, recommending, and utilizing orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning, and assistive devices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to participate in early morning or evening consults and training sessions as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based therapy services to students with diverse needs
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Team up with educators and support staff to maximize students' participation and independence in the school setting
- Document progress and provide input for IEPs and student transition plans
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and family consultations
- Support students year-round, including the 4-week Extended School Year (ESY) period over the summer
