Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license, with eligibility to practice in Maryland
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred
  • Strong understanding of pediatric therapy techniques and best practices
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with teachers, staff, and families
  • Ability to adapt treatment plans to an educational environment
  • Current CPR certification

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students’ physical therapy needs within the school setting
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students’ mobility, independence, and access to education
  • Collaborate regularly with teachers, special education staff, and parents to ensure integrated support
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students’ physical outcomes
  • Educate school staff on safe handling, equipment, and classroom strategies to facilitate inclusion
