Bring your expertise and passion for supporting young learners to an engaging role as a School Physical Therapist. This rewarding part-time contract position involves working with students in grades K-8 for both an upcoming summer school session and the full school year, making a positive difference in their educational experience.

You’ll enjoy a consistent schedule of 4 hours per week, delivering individualized and group physical therapy services that help students achieve their motor goals and participate fully in the school environment. Your skills will be valued as you collaborate with educators, families, and school teams to provide tailored support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing and evaluating students’ gross motor abilities, range of motion, and functional mobility
  • Developing and implementing targeted therapy plans for students during summer school (July 7-30, 2026) and the academic year (August 24, 2026 – June 11, 2027)
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom
  • Documenting student progress and maintaining clear communication with families and educational team members
  • Contributing to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and participating in relevant meetings

Qualifications:

  • Valid license as a Physical Therapist in Maine (or eligible for licensure)
  • Previous experience working with pediatric or school-based populations
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
