We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our school-based team in South Carolina. The Physical Therapist will support students with physical disabilities or developmental delays, helping them access their educational environment and achieve their functional mobility goals. This role involves collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate students’ physical abilities and develop individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other staff to support student outcomes
- Adapt school environments and recommend assistive devices or equipment as needed
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate, compliant documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development
- Educate staff and families on strategies to support student mobility and independence
Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Knowledge of special education processes and IEPs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
