Step into a dynamic school-based physical therapy role serving diverse student populations in the greater Bay Area. As a contract physical therapist from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, you’ll travelbetween multiple school sites, providing essential support to students ranging from early childhood through transition-age. Your expertise in school-based PT will empower students and foster their growth and independence in both academic and functional settings.

Qualifications:

  • Current California Physical Therapist license required
  • Prior experience in school-based physical therapy preferred
  • Strong organizational skills for managing itinerant schedules and caseloads at multiple sites
  • Excellent communication abilities for effective collaboration with educators, parents, and related service providers
  • Comfortable working independently and problem-solving on the go
  • Adaptable and ready to support a variety of student needs across age groups and abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based physical therapy services to students across a dozen schools, ensuring continuity and quality
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Monitor and document progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Consult and train school staff and families about integrating motor strategies into daily routines and classroom settings
  • Adapt interventions to varied site-specific equipment and resources
  • Maintain detailed, compliant records while meeting school district and state guidelines
