Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist in the state of New York
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong communication abilities to work well with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans and adapt to a diverse student population
- Commitment to fostering inclusive learning environments and promoting student engagement
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized education program (IEP) goals for students requiring physical therapy
- Implement evidence-based treatment plans to support student mobility, posture, and physical participation in school routines
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to ensure strategies are integrated into students’ daily activities
- Document evaluations, progress reports, and session notes in compliance with school and state requirements
- Provide guidance and in-service training to staff regarding adaptive equipment and classroom accommodations
