School Physical Therapist | Bumpass, Virginia

This contract opportunity focuses on supporting students in a school environment near Bumpass, VA. In this role, you’ll deliver expert care and guidance tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Currently, services are required twice weekly, with the likelihood of an expanding caseload as another student may soon enroll in the program.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid and active Physical Therapy (PT) license for the state
• Prior experience in pediatric or school-based physical therapy preferred
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation for students with diverse physical abilities
• Strong ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Effective communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine students’ physical needs and strengths
• Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with each student’s IEP
• Provide one-on-one and small-group physical therapy sessions on-site twice a week
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support students’ functional mobility, access, and participation in school environments
• Monitor progress, adjust intervention strategies, and maintain accurate, timely records
• Stay current on best practices in school-based physical therapy
